Before Commissioning

You must be 18 or older to commission or purchase a fursuit from Chirping Cat. If you are not 18, you must have an adult purchase for you.

Be sure you have a reference artwork with all the important details of your suit. A front and back view are necessary, a side view is helpful as well. Make your reference as accurate as possible; things like spots and stripes will be counted. Reference artworks made with generative AI will be rejected.

By purchasing from Chirping Cat, you agree to the ToS.

What Won't Be Made

  • Designs that are too similar to unique existing characters that do not belong to you will not be accepted.

  • Requests for sexually explicit details will not be accepted. To that end, all reference artworks must not have explicit or NSFW content. For the artist's sake.

  • Do not ask to copy another artist's unique style. This is discourteous to the other artist; Chirping Cat will deliver your character in my own unique style!

  • Overly complex characters with multitudes of colors and markings won't be accepted as of right now.

  • Offensive designs.

How To Commission

After reading through the price list here, go to the form at the bottom of the page. Fill out the form with each add-on, detail, and preferences you would like for your suit.

If your request is accepted, you will be sent a message with the quote for the cost of your fursuit as well as an expected turnaround time. You’ll be asked to send a confirmation email within 48 hours to accept the quote.

Before any work begins, you must pay a 50% deposit on the project. This is to secure your spot as well as materials for the suit. After this is paid, materials will be ordered, and progress will begin once you reach the front of the queue!

Payments

All payments are made through PayPal Business or Square. Payment plans are available upon request, of no more than 6 months. You can choose which day you make your payment; any delays must be communicated as soon as possible. Your suit will not be started until the 50% deposit is made. The rest of the payment is to be completed upon acceptance of the final photos; the suit will not be shipped until this is received. If payment is refused or not made, the suit will be kept, modified, and sold as a premade. Please see our refund policy for more information.

Unpaid Costs and Abandoned Suits

If you fail to pay off layaway and shipping costs or provide shipping information within a month of receiving final photos, additional storage fees will be charged.

Unclaimed suits or suits with missing payments that do not receive communication within two months of final photos will be considered abandoned. All payments made will be kept by Chirping Cat Creations, and the suit will be altered and sold as a premade.

Process

During the process, I will remain in contact with you unless otherwise requested to confirm fur, features, and progress. At least one progress photo will be sent for each week of work. It is important you do not share these photos unless given permission. This is to avoid others using them in potential scams!

Please keep in mind that it may not be possible to find exact color matches for your design. I will share fur swatches with you so we may best select the material for your character.

Materials

All materials are high quality and selected from trusted sellers. For this reason, I will not accept already purchased fur from the customer.

Head bases and eyes are printed from plant-based PLA. Each head sculpt is done by Chirping Cat unless otherwise requested; requesting I use an available base (such as from Etsy) will influence your quoted price.

Edits During Construction

The fursuit's design will match the provided reference as closely as possible. If you wish for minor changes and tweaks during construction, I will do my best to accommodate. Large changes that are not communicated ahead of time, e.g., when applying for a quote, will incur an extra fee. You may choose at that point to pay the fee or continue as-is.

Measurements

If you order a bodysuit, arm sleeves, or foot paws, measurements will be requested. Duct-Tape Dummies (DTDs) are not used. Because of this, the more accurate your measurements, the better tailored your suit will be.

Crafting Time

Each suit is unique and will take varying amounts of time to complete. This is entirely dependent on the size of the queue, the complexity of the fursuit, the turnaround time of my 3D printing partner, among other factors.

In general, a partial can take up to a month after starting, with a full suit taking 1.5 to 3 months. If you need your suit by a certain time, I will do my best within reason to have it completed. For partials or full suits please allow at least three months of working time, not including shipping. The earlier, the better.

Things that will delay your suit include

  • Delays in payments

  • Delay in receiving measurements

  • Not responding to communications

  • Large design changes

Please plan ahead of time to avoid these scenarios!

Warranty

If your suit arrives and has any significant issues such as poor fit, rips, popped seams, or dents, please contact me immediately with a photo to arrange a fix. The client will pay shipping to send the suit back to me, and I will pay shipping to send it back to you. This warranty lasts for 30 days after receiving the suit.

This warranty does not cover misuse such as roughhousing nor fit issues as a result of improper measurements from the client. Any sexual acts done with the fursuit also voids warranty.

Modifications may also void the warranty. Please contact Chirping Cat before making any. If minor repairs are needed, I am also available to guide you through them at no cost using the included repair kit.

Allergies

Please notify Chirping Cat of any allergies. Materials used may include plant-based PLA, cotton, resin, polyester, and hot glue. The studio is frequented by my bosses, who happen to be three cats. If there are concerns, please communicate them as soon as possible into the creation process.

Make It Last!

Your fursuit is intended to last a long time. To avoid the need of costly repairs or replacement, consider the following care tips:

  • Do not pick up your head by the eyes, ears or nose.

  • Regularly brush your fursuit and after each wear.

  • Do not tug on any parts of the fursuit such as fur, ears, or tails.

  • Keep your fursuit away from common staining substances such as coffee and wine.

  • Wear sweat-wicking clothes beneath your suit, including a balaclava or similar head covering for your fursuit head.

  • Do not expose to heat.

  • Hang dry after each wash.

Also, please be aware of yourself while wearing your fursuit! Fursuits can get very warm and claustrophobic, vision in heads can be limited, and paws make dexterous actions difficult. The client must wear the suit responsibly - Chirping Cat is not liable for any injury from negligent fursuiting.

Right to Refuse Service

Chirping Cat Creations has the right to refuse service to anyone. If a client proves to be abusive, harassing, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or bigoted, service may be immediately discontinued with no refund.

Privacy Policy

Your information will not be used for any reason other than to contact you relating to your commission or order.

Photos and Videos

All in progress photos are not to be shared anywhere or with anyone. They are for your reference only. Photos of the completed suit will be posted on the Chirping Cat website.

If you take any nice photos after receiving your suit, please do share!

By purchasing from Chirping Cat Creations, you agree to these terms.
